8/18/2017 8:54:03 AM  •  Alerts  •  Message ID 1013746

Montclair TV34 will broadcast the total solar eclipse stream from Middle State Tennessee University (MTSU) on Monday, August 21. The solar eclipse will be visible along a narrow path in the continental US from Salem, Oregon to Charleston, South Carolina, and right through the heart of Tennessee. This a once-in-a-generation event, brought to you LIVE by The Center for Educational Media at the MTSU.

With MTSU’s unique location -- directly in the path of the great solar eclipse -- plus a wealth of scientific knowledge and commentary will make this a truly extraordinary opportunity for TV34 viewers.

The solar eclipse program will run on Montclair TV34 (Comcast and FiOS channel 34) on Monday, from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. It will also be available online at http://montclair.peg.tv.

MTSU is planning to enhance the eclipse viewing with:

  • Experts, Videos and Slides provided by the MTSU Astronomy Department
  • Live feed from NASA
  • Live feed from MTSU’s observatory telescope

The program will include three 10-minute segments from members of the MTSU Physics and Astronomy faculty:

  • Segment 1 -- Ron Henderson (Eclipse Geometry)
  • Segment 2 -- Chuck Higgins (Eclipse Path & Safety)
  • Segment 3 -- John Wallin (Info on what you’ll see)
